Sunday, minute by minute

So nothing catches you off guard.

9:45Coffee, and nobody will corner you

The coffee's in the cafeteria by the entrance. Grab a cup, find a seat, or just stand near the wall. Nobody's going to make you introduce yourself to anyone.

10:00We start. About 300 people, most of them new here too

Someone will welcome everyone and pray. This is a brand-new church, so almost everyone in the room is figuring it out alongside you.

10:10Singing, about 20 minutes

Stand or sit; both are fine. Words are on a screen. Nobody's watching to see if you're singing.

10:35A talk, about 30 minutes

From one part of the Bible, usually just a few verses. We'll tell you exactly where to find it, and it's fine to just listen.

11:05We pray, we take an offering

Visitors, please don't feel obligated. This genuinely isn't why we invited you.

11:15We linger

Stay if you want to. Leave if you want to. Nobody's tracking who talks to who.

Your kids

Nursery through 5th grade, down the hall.

Every adult in the kids' rooms has a background check on file, and there are always at least two adults per room. Check-in takes about a minute: we'll give you a matching tag, and if your kid needs you for any reason, we'll text before we come find you. If you'd rather keep them with you in the service, that's completely normal here too.

First time? Come a few minutes early and someone will walk you through check-in.

Getting here

Park in the back lot, come in door 3.

Eastway Demo School sits just off Demo Ave, behind the shopping center with the Demo Foods. The building is brick, single-story, with a bus loop out front. Don't use that entrance. Loop around to the back lot; it's free and usually half-empty at 9:45.

Questions people actually ask

Do I have to talk to anyone?

No. Come in, sit down, leave whenever you want. If you'd rather stay quiet the whole time, that's completely fine.

What if I'm not a Christian?

You're still invited, and you don't need to pretend to be something you're not. Plenty of the people who'll be there that Sunday aren't either. Come just to look.

What if I don't speak much English?

You're not the only one. This neighborhood is full of Spanish speakers, and so are we. Ask at the door and someone will sit with you.

Is there somewhere to nurse?

Yes, a quiet room off the cafeteria with a chair and a lock on the door. Ask anyone with a name tag.

Can I come alone?

Most people's first Sunday is alone. It's easier than you think: coffee, a seat, and no one making it weird.
