Demo Church

About

Why this church, why here, why now.

East Charlotte has churches. What it doesn't have, as far as we could find, is one that was actually planted for the neighborhood as it exists right now: Spanish-speaking families next door to English-speaking ones, longtime residents next to people who arrived last year. We didn't move here to start this. We already lived here, and we kept noticing the same gap: nowhere that felt like it was for exactly this street.

What we believe

In plain language, not a doctrinal statement. We have one of those too, for people who want the fuller version.

God is real and has spoken.

We take the Bible as true and trustworthy, not as one option among many.

People are broken, including us.

That's not an insult. It's the reason any of this matters.

Jesus is who he said he was.

Not a good teacher we picked out of many. God, come to fix what's broken.

The church is a people, not a building.

We don't have one yet. That hasn't stopped us from being a church.
